My other baby

Jasper called in to see me this evening before I came to work. He showed me on Face book the try that earns him man of the match.

On the home front things are slowly moving along. A lot of my stuff is up at the cottage and I have now a very clear, painted and fresh attic room. The dining room is next on the to do list.

My baby turned 19!!!

In amongst all the sorting, moving and de-cluttering Jose turned 19. I went up to see her by train armed with cake, a very pink cake. Although it looked nice it wasn't a patch on her boyfriend Huw's cake for taste. He won that one hands down. Can see I am going to have a bit of competition there. Actually have to admit to him scoring pretty high on the Ok by Mum stakes. Polite, nice, kind, well spoken, can cook, hard working and can even flipping well sew!!

We went out to dinner as well. Josie's choice (have to admit not really my cup
Of tea). It was strange watching these two from the other side of the table. It really made me realise how much she has grown up and how bloody proud I am of her.

It was lovely as she came home to help me Sort out stuff and we put a load of stuff on eBay. So I am off to have a bit of a package up and a trip to the post office.

I love my very grown up daughter very much, but she knows that xx

Stressful time and a bit of emotional exhaustion.

Sounds terrible doesn't it but actually it isn't as bad as it sounds. My room at Tim's cottage is finished and I have done a pretty good job of filling it although over the last couple of months I have dumped/burnt over 60 bin bags of total rubbish. I have spent a lot of time going through old photos and the J's early school work. Deciding what to keep and what not to has been hard. I have kept a lot of things that I think they will enjoy looking through in years to come. Many tears as well. Thinking how if their Dad and I had worked how life would have been very different. But things happen for a reason and I am a very strong believer in fate. Jose wouldn't be in London and with Huw, Jasper would possibly have gone to a different school and might not be the focused young man he has become. Who knows. One thing is for sure I would not be blissfully happy with one of the most special, non complicated lovely man and finding out that people can want to be with you for who you really are, they don't want you to change, pretend to be someone you are not, that to be with a man doesn't mean you have to accept being put down, sad and unhappy. That they can love you for who you are, fat tummy and all!! So as I say, everything happens for a reason.

I have been trying to finish things as well as sort out my cottage ready for putting it on the market. But also seem to have taken on a few things as well. Tim is a builder and works outside. A scarf would be dangerous so I gave him one of my neck hugs I made for a Christmas craft stall and it hasn't been off from his neck so I decided that I would make another one, crochet this time. I used a RICO super chunk yarn and although it is lovely and soft, acrylic and easy to wash it seems to pull a bit on the stubble so I will have to try something different for the next one.

I have been asked to make a blanket for a friend's grandson. She liked Attic 24 Granny Stripe colours but it needed to be chunky so it grows fast. So I have doubled up two DK to make a chunky weight wool and it is lovely to do. Relaxing, just what I need at the moment.

I have made a hat for another neighbour and been to Totnes with my Mum to meet up with my big sister for her Birthday. .

Today is mainly a catch up. Lots of photos and as I will not have access to the Internet up at Tim's (my god how will I cope - just think of all the extra hours I will have in a day!!!!) I want to keep my blog up to date. I did wonder about starting a new one as I will no longer be at Poppy Cottage but need to give that a bit of thought.

I plan to move in at the start of March but with 18 night shifts booked in I though it actually eases Tim into the reality about living with someone who has lived on their own for 6 years gently!! We talk lots, trust each other and most importantly are friends so we should be ok. I know there are times when I will find it hard. Tim's ex was a good friend and I am going to need to deal with the 'ghost' of it having been someone else's home, I am going to miss being just round the corner to my very good friend but it will also be fun, peaceful and quiet. Nicki and I plan to get together to have 'crafting' days. I plan to walk more. Shift some of this weight and be very happy.

Hope all is well with you.

I won the most fantastic give away!!

I feel very spoilt. I won Lizzie's give away. She asked what would be our best Christmas present. My answer would be to have Baby Arthur home for Christmas. And he was.

There is such a selection in the box. I love the peg people and the black bird will hang in my new room at Tim's. (which nearly has a door way to go with its new posh roof!! So yes, feeling very spoilt.

Thank you so much Lizzie.
