Gift tag

Some one came into the wool shop wanting a tiny pair of booties to give to her friend who had just become a grandma. I offered to knit her some, unsure what to charge her ( I am a crap business woman) I suggested that if she brought a ball of wool, I'll knit them and post them to her and then keep the remaining wool. Deal struck she chose a ball of rooster baby bamboo. Rosie sold wool, lady was happy and I had fun knitting them and I have plenty of wool left for now another idea!!!

What do you think?

I also spent the day yesterday helping my friends in West Bexington with their shearing (they are the people with that wonderful wool). I will be paid in balls of wool. I have discovered muscles that I had forgotten were in my body. But kind of made think that if I had a physical job how fit I would be. Food for thought. I have now lost 1 stone 2 lbs. well on my way to the two stone I want to loose before I am 40 in September. (then three stone after that, would be nice to get down to 12 stone again). If all goes well I will be spending the day with my Mum and both my sisters walking Lily in Devon at a place called Fingle Bridge, Jose will sadly be back in London but I am hoping I can go and spend the day with her just after my Birthday.

So all in all some lovely family time to look forward to. Some things lately have really made me realise how very lucky I am to have such a good relationship with all members of my family. I love and like each one so very much.
I may be skint but I am so rich in other ways and I appreciate that every day x

Tim is getting ready to take his hut to the Melplash Show and my friend Kim is putting together the art work for his signs and business cards. I wish I could draw half as good as her. This is just a rough sketch!!!

  1. Squeeee! Such cuuuute booties! In NZ, the going rate is $10 per ball for knitting (that's about 5GPB). Slave labour, but for some it's worth the pocket money. BTW. I think your scales are broken. There's no way you're that heavy.

  2. Oh those booties..how cute are they! WELL DONE on the weight loss.I'm dieting (or should that be healthy eating) too and have lost three stone to date.I've decided I cannot go back to the way I was eating before,it's going to be a whole new way of life for me.I've spent lots of holidays in Devon and Fingle bridge is a beautiful spot by the river. You can sit in the garden of the pub with a cold drink while dipping your toes in the water...bliss! :0)
