Want to join me in a couple of challenges?

Interested?

OK. 2009 has nearly gone. I personally am fed up with looking at my 'not so slim' body in the mirror. I know, at 5'8 1/2" I will never be 'little' or 'slight' but I can defiantly be 2 stone lighter. I am fed up with thinking about it and not actually getting around to doing it. People say 'your tall, you carry it well, that may be so but it is me who sees the naked truth, and only me who can do anything about it.

So that is the first challenge. Join me in loosing some weight. Joining a slimming club is all well and good but that is £6 we could spend on fabric, wool or craft items.

So.......................... It is always easier to loose weight if you do it with someone, a friend. Two of you have already suggested joining me so here is the blog to do it in. Put the £6 a week in a jar and follow this blog http://theperfectchallenge.blogspot.com/

Put random thoughts (your weight if you feel like it - I'll stick mine on there on Friday morning - Hey I have no shame) tips and suggestions. How about e-mailing me a photo, or a post to poppycottage18@yahoo.co.uk and I'll post it for you, making it a 'keeping track blog'.

The second challenge is to finish one WIP a month (more if you feel like it). Again I shall post a photo. Apart from the rolls of blubber, I am also fed up looking at un-finished things that I have started.

So 2010 is as good as we all make it. I know I want to end this new year thinking that I have done my best, looking forwards instead of backwards (which I have been doing a bit lately) I want to feel better, fitter and lighter. I also want to be tidier - well OK, maybe that is just one challenge too far!!!!

It's been and gone for another year!!!

Hello.

Sorry I have been away from blogging for ages. I have been reading (yours)but just not really getting around to writing my own.

Christmas has totally thrown me this year. I planned to be so organised, well, I did say planned!!

Did actually manage to make most of my presents, trouble is, sometimes they don't look like they have not only cost a lot, but they also have taken hours to do. Still, all of mine went down really well. Remember the Attic / Hen mitts? My sister liked this sock yarn we saw in St Ives, so it became mitts. See.....they actually fit (thankfully she has much smaller hands then I)
Jasper was given a calender.....Remember he is 14 .....Yep, thanks to his cousin he is the VERY proud owner of a Page Three calender.

So much so it got sneaked into the family photo....

His face was a picture when he showed it to my Grandad

Mmmmmm..........86 years old and STILL understanding (or remembering) what the calender was all about!!

My little sister and I. (not to myself, 2010 must sort the weight thing out!!)

Little sis and Jose....
Big Sis and Jose....

I just love this smile, so so natural

My Mum (below) and my Grandad above

Mum's op was cancelled as it was found at her pre-op that her blood was 5.2 instead of 12 - 18. Whoops. Turns out she had been bleeding internally and was a) lucky being alive b) not having had a heart attack or stroke. So once her level is back up then she'll be going in.

My Dad deep in thought (either that of something stuck in his teeth!)

And of course Lily was also joining in!!

Now, I started this blog with the intention of posting about stuff I had made, or wanted to make. I seem to have gone a bit off track. So 2010, new year, new start.....
I brought these mitts today in a shop, not just because I like them (I do actually) but because I want to copy them, they look so easy. Knitted rib, then trebles all around. So I shall keep you posted.

So simple but the colours make it really effective.
I have so much stuff to finish, sort out, file, recycle or dump. So maybe (and I am sure I am not alone in this) 2010 will see WIP finished, cottage sorted (well you can't rush these things) and life in general a bit more on track.

In case I don't post again till the New Year. I wish you all well. xx
